I HATE the electronic drumming! I HATE that crappy keyboard stuff! But of course! I would always buy the Van Hagar albums simply for Eddie's guitar playing!A little bit of Simmons drums on there too. Yes! I hate it! At least Neil had an organic kit and a Simmons kit! GENIUS!!!! I saw the 5150 Tour! I was so pissed watching one of the lamest drum solos of my life and I love Alex's playing on the real Van Halen stuff! He had a shitload of clear octobans around his four bass drums. On top were Simmons pads! He just did this fast as lighting shit with flickering white lights. Weak! That crap solo was included on Live Without A Net. Oracle Posted October 30, 2017 Share Posted October 30, 2017 Great song from the Van Hagar era, but pretty close to that cookie cutter 80s "symphonic epic" pop sound. 5150 is a great album overall and Dreams really encapsulates that entire album really well. It was great seeing Sammy perform it in a stripped down clean guitar/vocals rendition this summer, made the song SO much better. 3/5 stars.
