What we have here is a new member to the forum - a 16 year old Rush fan from NJ - striking up some conversation and using a scripted clip as a springboard to profess her love for Geddy, and the band that brings us all here ..

And based on the tone of some of these responses, there are some "men" here that have actually supported the fact that Geddy is one of the nicest guys in the world, because it is obvious that they are not ..

So, should we all have to go looking for someone's age before we post a reply? Simply looking at the info under the avatar doesn't yield than info and I figure if you like Rush enough to actually sign up to post on a message board, you're probably mature enough to understand there are all kinds of people who post on a message board dedicated to a band that's been around for nearly 40 years.

Then again, I've read lots of posts from adults here who don't seem to be very mature, so...

I haven’t met enough men to make this determination.

But ya see, people who suckle at the teat of Rush, especially Geddy, make these determinations without ever having met or talked to the guy, and even if they did, it was for 10 seconds at a meet and greet. Or they see some footage of an interview and decide he's the nicest guy (and one of the most attractive) in world.

I seriously think he's a good looking guy. Never met him obviously.

Actually, I think it was the closing video for the Clockwork Angels Tour.

It was the Time Machine Tour.  2010.

I couldn't stand I Love You Man.  I had to turn it off after about 30 minutes.  All I wanted to do was kick them both in the ass..... :laughing guy:

Agreed...hideously embarrassing piece of shoddy filming.

I never even considered giving that movie a shot despite my love of movies and Rush

If you're feeling particularly masochistic, look at this

I cringed inwardly when I first saw it.

Watch this video. Watch it to the very end.

I dare you not to tell me that Geddy Lee is an absolute SWEETHEART. Or, at least that's how I see it.

https://m.youtube.co...h?v=iq3yjfoorsU

There are things that would have me believe he's a nice guy in the real world, but this isn't really one of them . . . you know this is a prearranged skit for an internet channel, right? ( I like Geddy as well but Paul Rudd bugs me.). :P

Yes, I am well aware that this entire thing was a staged skit.

But here's the thing.

If my friend went to a RUSH concert with me on my birthday and faked backstage laminates; if we looked like total fools in front of the Holy Triumvate; if we clearly weren't welcome to go backstage in the first place; if we ate Neil Peart's sandwich, and Geddy Lee STILL had the absolute generosity to get all the members of RUSH to sign my double-neck bass and then give it to me and tell me "you forgot something- happy birthday," despite EVERYTHING else that happened (which based on the interviews sounds like something he would do), I would be practically screaming with joy and hailing Geddy Lee as one of the most generous and forgiving men in the world.

In other words, even though the whole thing was staged, that one moment at the end where Geddy gives Paul Rudd's character a SIGNED BASS, despite EVERYTHING that they went through and despite being kicked out of the room, is, in my opinion, EXTREMELY generous and one of the most heartwarming moments in that entire clip. To me, he didn't just give him that signed bass as a birthday gift.

Yeah it really was so sweet to see Geddy deliver his line and follow the SCRIPT with such kindness in his voice.

While we're at it, if you don't think Leonardo Dicrapio is the sweetest guy in the world, watch the part in Titanic when he gives Kate Winslet a table to float on in the ocean while he dies...the big guy in the sky really outdid himself when he gave us Leo.

Rush's thoughts when Paul Rudd and Jason Segel leave (before Geddy gives the bass to them), according to me:

Alex: La-la-la, meat bees, thank god these crazy stalkers are gone...

Neil: Finally. How dare they eat half of my sandwich! Those guys are idiots!

Geddy: They left... and we didn't even sign their bass... They may have faked the laminates, but they came all this way just to tell us how big fans they are... and it's his birthday... I don't want to feel guilty about this for the next 200 kilometers like I did in Germany...

These thoughts are also scripted.

What Rush was ACTUALLY thinking while filming this:

Alex: This is really fun!
Neil: This will NEVER happen in real life...
Geddy: ...I know this is scripted, but I'm getting serious flashbacks to that time with those Italian fans...

That's farther than I got. I barely got through the performance of Limelight. It's the only clip I've ever seen.
