If you want to discuss LGBTQRST issues, go to a forum for that.
But I think the RUSH connection is a piece of the puzzle.
Really?

It's a common starting and reference point.

1. The Restless Young Romantics: A subforum meant for the younger fans of Rush or people that only became fans recently and either never seen them live, or only saw them live a few times. This is a place where people can review Rush songs they just listened to for the first time or discuss why they love Rush and what makes Rush tic to them.

2. Against The Run Of The Mill: Seeing as how we have New World Women, a forum for female Rush fans, I think that we should have a subforum for Rush fans who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. This is a place to discuss LGBT issues in the news, share advice about dating, coming out, etc.

Anyway, what do you think?

Maybe the LGBTQ idea could be a thread in the Open Secrets subforum?  Or are you thinking that it would be too hard for new members to find, maybe.

Pinned.

I am pretty sure our society has been devided into enough "special" groups(with grievances out the @ss of course). Might as well divide this place up also by every letter in the alphabet...

Not sure there's enough members here who fall into these two categories to make the subforums work. 73 can always give it a try but don't we already got these bases covered with the Rush section and Open Secrets sub forum?

I think it's only fair that if the idea for a religion subforum was pitched, I should pitch my idea for an LGBT subforum.

To have some level of organization it’s necessary to have the place subdivided by topic.  Do these ideas divide people or just add more topics?  I’m not sure.

There shouldn't be a religion one either. Then it gets divided by each religion and belief and so on and so on. Personally I've had enough with the division into small groups in my life but carry on. Out...

If you're only pitching the idea to counter the suggestion for a religious sub forum then you're doing this for the wrong reasons.

That's not the only reason. I've had this idea in my head for a while, but I never asked about it until today.

so true!

geez, people, who would it hurt to have a subforum for the young'uns?

as for the lgbtqrstuvwxyz, maybe that could be a thread in a young'uns subforum instead of a whole subforum for itself.

In my day we had one big forum where we fought things out like men!
