BassPlayer magazine says a limited number of signed copies will be available ..... Available where?

I have my pre-order on Amazon, nothing on RushBackstage as of yet ...

Hoping for a book signing tour! Would be a great opportunity to get my Basses all signed :-)

If there’s a limited number of signed copies available for purchase, then wouldn’t that most likely mean there isn’t going to be a book signing tour?
Nooooooooo !

Think about it. Fan X pays $75 for a signed copy. 4 months later Fan Y goes to Barnes & Nobles to get his copy signed for free.

If anything, paying for a signed copy would happen IF you missed the book signing rounds NOT before the rounds happened.

Cruel algebra. Let Blueschica = :(
Let vt = :smoke:
Let JB = :blaze:

X = 75
Y = (duration - Z)
Z = 0

No, you’ve already demonstrated your cruel mathematics and devastated poor Blueschica.
Here, this is better:

A = 4
B = 2
C = 0

I'm alright but I do look forward to a public appearance by Geddy since the restraining order keeps me away from his home . . .

I'd get a signed copy if I can before it sells out, but I'm sure it'll be a crapshoot unless rushbackstage actually emails ahead of time (they didn't for Alex's west end Phoenix newspaper piece until it was on the site).

FWIW it's not supposed to be a Rush book, it's a bass book.  As usual, though, a couple of fans here think it's all about what they want--waaaaaaaah!  It doesn't have 1980s Wal basses in it!  Waaaaah!  Bass players in general give zero rats' asses about Wal basses, aside from those who worship Geddy, and if he had never played one, no one would.  Yes, I get that a lot of people who will buy this are going to be Rush fans who really know nothing about playing or about musical instruments, but it's supposed to be a big beautiful bass book, not a big beautiful Geddy or Rush book.  Get over yourselves already (fat chance).  The guy is an obsessive (like Neil) and he collects things--baseballs, wine, whatever. He managed to get a great collection together in a short time and he probably knows about every one of them intimately--the book is for similar-minded bass freaks.  And I'd go to a signing/stay on line however long I have to if I get to just say "hey, remember me?  My buddy almost spilled his drink on your shoe!"  That would be fun.  Probably not happening though--it would be a cluster-f.

If there is a book signing, that would be for regular copies, unless you'd want your limited super-deluxe version signed twice.

Geddy Lee's upcoming book has been pushed back for release, which is now listed as Dec 4th, 2018.

Check out the listing here from the Harper Collins website regarding the featured content, which I recently discovered.

Thanks for the link.

"Written in Geddy's singular voice, this book reveals the stories, songs, and history behind the instruments of his inimitable collection."

I wonder what the writer means by "Geddy's singular voice"...?

"Yeah! Oh...yeah!  I bought my '72 Fender Jazz in a pawn shop, ooh yeah, ooh yeah.  Fender, baby!  Wonders of the world they ... wrrrrroouuughhhht!"

It'll be written just like any other book, only the book on tape will be pitch-shifted to sound like a chipmunk on speed.

"Written in Geddy's singular voice, "

Unlike the multiple Geddys we heard on VP and SnA.

I wonder if grumpy Uncle Neil would do the narration in his creepy Necromancer voice.

"As grey traces of dawn tinge the eastern sky, the three travelers, men of Willow Dale, emerge from the forest shadow. They venture forth to a Kalamazoo pawn shop in search of the favorite instrument of Sir Geddy...."

May be limited, but I don't think it will be that limited.

was hanging out with the Uncle today and I mentioned Geddy Lee because we were talking about our Mothers and he spilled the beans: he bought me THE BOOK! (out of fear that I might be buying it). I wasn't going to buy it. He should have rolled the dice! That would have been a huge surprise at Christmas!

It was funny he was like, you know I did something really nice 4 you. He said he wasn't going to tell me because I started being a douche with my guessing. Then he said I'm going to tell you and you can't tell anyone (the wife). I bought you Geddy Lee's Bass Book i as like "YOU BOUGHT ME GEDDY LEES BIG BEAUTIFUL BOOK OF BASS?!?!?!

It was coming straight from his Camaro fund so I am priviledged :notworthy:

What a nice thing to do! I'll be raking leaves shortly because he said something about "rumination" lmao

If the signed edition is put on the band’s merch site rather than direct through the publisher, I’m guessing it will be a disaster now that musictoday is handling the official Rush merch.  Worst customer service department ever, and worst track record with missing shipping dates and not bothering to tell anyone until months later when they finally get around to sending things.

Rumour has it Geddy will be at Sirius, and I just wrote to my local (nj) bookstore that does signings (including Bruce Dickinson last year and Roger Daltry next mth) and asked if they were going to get Geddy and they quickly replied "stay tuned!"
