Did he die or what?

I am finding conflicting news stories.

Here's one that says he died:  https://coed.com/201...tbreakers-died/

A few others say he had a severe cardiac arrest and is on life support.

Tom Petty was rushed to the hospital Sunday night after he was found unconscious, not breathing and in full cardiac arrest … law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

EMTs rushed to his Malibu home and were able to get a pulse. He was rushed to the UCLA Santa Monica Hospital and our sources say he was put on life support.

Petty’s condition is unknown but was critical from the moment he was found.

I just read he was taken off of life support because he has no brain activity.

Wow, I didn’t realize that anything had happened to him. Doesn’t sound very good.

I have a bad feeling. A terrible day for so many obvious reasons. It's hard to find solace.

I know.  I could cry  my eyeballs out right now.  It was Tom Petty that got me through the awful month of January - him and Mike Campbell's guitar.  I owe them a lot.

I see.  He was found not breathing so they had no way of knowing how long he had been without oxygen.   Now I understand what happened.  Better off that he dies.

This is awful.

I can't believe this!  He is gone!  Listening to "Damn The Torpedoes" right now!!  I had a ticket to see him a few weeks ago at The Greek but he cancelled.  Rescheduled for the following Monday.  I couldn't make it!  DAMN IT!  RIP!

Thank you for posting this, I kept reading both things and didn't know what to think.  This is so sad, what a loss. :rose:

Thank God I went to the Rush Hall Of Fame Induction!  I was lucky enough to see Tom perform with Jackson and Randy Newman.  Sadly it was the only time I ever saw Tom perform live.  UGH!  I regret not going on that Monday night!

I'm not really a fan, but a horrible way to go for a class act.

He died at home.  My eldest cousin just lost her husband to a heart attack at home.  There are much worse ways to go.

He seemed to be one, although only friends and family would know for sure.

But he seemed so laid back that the way he went is a shock.   Only 66 too.
