In my book this Pink Floyd big classic smashes Hemispheres.

I suppose Hemispheres will win this, but I wanna know how much of difference will be in its favor?

That's comparing one of Rush's best epics vs a garden variety Pink Floyd epic that's in the middle of the pack. Not even close.

Rush.

The Floyd song is good if you need something to help you fall asleep. At least Hemishpheres isn't boring.

I dig Shine On a bit more than Hemispheres.  A cooler vibe, and more my musical/lyrical taste.

Shine on is great and all, and I know I kinda rag on Hems a lot, but this is basically classic Rush vs. classic Floyd, and there's a reason Rush is one of my top five while Floyd is not.

Hems easily.

It's much more repetitive than Shine on You.

I never said it wasn't repetitive. Just that the song as a whole isn't boring.

Again . . . two very different trips.  Hurtling along in a chrome-plated menacing blaze of controlled distortion and righteous screamy vocals, or floating in a mix of textures with dreamy organ sounds, creamy licks, and the occasional saxomophone.

I love it!!! :blaze:

Fantastic Four #213!
I used to have that.

Despite Shine On's super powers, Hemispheres beat the living crap out of him! While that was happening, Human Torch and super fast aging Mr. Fantastic & Thing took on Terrax.

I'm confused!

All I can add is that Hemispheres wields the POWER COSMIC!!!
