Has anybody heard the list? I can't find it posted but it is crap. I won't argue against #1 Appetite for Destruction but DL's Hysteria at the two spot? When a masterpiece like Queensrÿche's Operation Mindcrime is listed at 23?

Two Bon Jovi albums?

No eff that. I'm burning somebody's house down.

What is a "hair nation"?

Fraroc's new band.

Their new single this Hair's for you is ripping up the chart.

yes i mean chart......singular.

Mick

I'm on a site called The Rush Forum.

That would indicate I like genres other than hair metal lol

Hair Nation is a satellite radio station in the USA that broadcasts hair metal.

Thanks for clearing that up. But the big question is what is hair metal?

A subgenre of heavy metal which features pop-influenced hooks and guitar riffs, and borrows from the fashion of 1970s glam rock. source Wikipedia.

Oh I know what the genre is. But who fits into it is a whole other thing. Like why would Operation Mindcrime or Appetite For Destruction even be labeled that by anyone?

I love Hair Metal. Hysteria was a great record. I would not have put it so far ahead of Mindcrime but that's just my opinion.

Many bands that got lumped into the label Hair Metal were no more than regular rock bands that adopted the look because that was what sold records.

Same think happened with grunge. Just rock bands that had a certain look all being lumped together as a certain style when in fact, Nirvana sounded nothing like Pearl Jam or Soundgarden who also sounded nothing like Alice in Chains who didn't really sound anything like Candlebox.

So there.

Hysteria is a masterpiece of pop/rock. More great hooks and riffs than most bands have their entire career
