This was from last June,

My friend was supposed to go along but couldn't make it. But there was no way in hell I wasn't going. I started off with streamers but switched over to a mouse pattern during the afternoon. It was lights out. Caught about twenty trout on one single mouse pattern. I retired it just because of this awesome day! biggrin.gif

First overnight fishing trip for me in years. Brother in law brought over

his 30ft with twin 300 Suzuki's. Buzzed out to the middle grounds in

the Gulf of Mexico. Spent the night drifting over rock structures at

100 ft deep.

Caught tons of fish, nice Grouper, Snapper, Sharks.

My son with the biggest Mangrove Snapper we've ever seen

My Nephew with a nice Red Snapper that we threw back because the season was closed

My Son in Law with a 30 in Gag Grouper.

We had a great time and a big Labor Day Fish Fry.

I've thrown back a red snapper once or twice in my life. It had nothing to do with the season being closed though. ;)

Today I went fishing in a little lake near gilmer texas. Rumored to have big fish, very brushy tough to get to. also on the property is a runway that is decent sized, big enough probably for a small private jet to land. the property is owned by none other than Don Henley. I wasnt worried about getting shot as I am sure he isnt currently posted up in gilmer, TX.

Anyways I caught about 20 bass in 2 hours, all about 2-4 pounds. Filleted a few out, frying them up tonight

I also took a dump in the forest.

I know how much some of the people in this forum hate the eagles so hopefully someone gets a smile out of this story. No pics (didnt think you would want to see my ass)

You're right about not wanting to see your ass, but how about the bass?

Fishing yesterday was redhot, caught about 40 in 3 hours, black buzzbait. Cant beat days like that. This is the big fish of the day, 21.5 inch bigmouth. It had recently spawned, weighed about 6 pounds, but had it been early spring or summer would have been an 8 pound fish

Hope to get out this Sunday. Breakup was late so fingers are crossed. We have a riverfront cabin rented for next weekend. It should be lights out for trout on mouse patterns!

Very cool thread! I just noticed it.

I live in South Florida and my son (22) and I fish for SNAKEHEADS all day long! They are nasty little f*ckers and strong as hell. Many say they taste good and are easy to fillet but look at them! Would you eat that? Awesome fish to catch because they fight sooooo hard. They also live on land too!!!!!
