Entre_Perpetuo
their anger and desperation seem somewhat contrived to me ... they are a very good band though ... they just do not come off as believable to my ears i kinda agree. and it's terrible what happened to Chester. but.......um.....i'm sorry the debut is lyrically one cliche on top of another. Again i don't mean that to come across badly but just saying what i hear. Mick Yeah, for such heavy (sounding) music, the lyrics were THE furthest thing from explicit. The only other band I know that has lyrics quite that non-specific is Coldplay. But hey, it definitely works. The number of people who find "I tried so hard, and got so far" to be as deep as Dylan is truly something to behold. Not saying I don't like the lyrics, but the approach is cliche. Go back to Queen and ponce around somewhere else. Yo, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it as an insult or a dis at all. I hope I didn't make you upset. :( Ignore me i was a total t**t. Mood swings. I will not defend myself. Sorry bud. np bro

Been thinking about this. It may be cliche, but even as a general sentiment, a lot of people can relate. This. Sincerity is what marks Linkin Park as different to, say, Bon Jovi.

Segue Myles
I also found extreme comfort in these words. They strike me as sincere, not forced, contrived or merely cliched: I don't like my mind right nowStacking up problems that are so unnecessaryWish that I could slow things downI wanna let go but there's comfort in the panicAnd I drive myself crazyThinking everything's about meYeah, I drive myself crazy'Cause I can’t escape the gravity I'm holding onWhy is everything so heavy?Holding onSo much more than I can carryI keep dragging around what's bringing me downIf I just let go, I'd be set freeHolding onWhy is everything so heavy? You say that I'm paranoidBut I'm pretty sure the world is out to get meIt's not like I make the choiceTo let my mind stay so f***ing messyI know I'm not the center of the universeBut you keep spinning 'round me just the sameI know I'm not the center of the universeBut you keep spinning 'round me just the same I'm holding onWhy is everything so heavy?Holding onSo much more than I can carryI keep dragging around what's bringing me downIf I just let go, I'd be set freeHolding onWhy is everything so heavy? The 3rd record was fantastic though. That was the only one i've actually played regularly. Mick Edited July 29, 2017 by bluefox4000
