I'm so jazzed guys!

Tony Bennett changed my life last night! He is still touring around the country this summer and into fall and winter.

PLEASE SEE HIM!

When Tony did "Rags To Riches" last night I couldn't help out but blurt out "GOODFELLAS!"

I got a few laughs from the crowd. It was all good.

Amazing show.

So now I am watching "Goodfellas" tonight in homage to Tony.

What an incredible film!!

"Casino" is solid too but "Goodfellas" RULES!!!

Do you agree????

Holy Shit you guys! My song is in this movie! I'm not typing about "Duke Of Earl!"

This song is by The Cadillacs! I love this song! "Speedo!"

"Well now they often call me Speedo, but my real name is Mister Earl."

I used to wear a Speedo back in high school when I was on the Varsity Swim Team!

Yep!

I was and still am the ultimate nerd.

A skinny dude addicted to RUSH and hard rock swimming in a Speedo.

RUSH ON!

Earl, you're probably wearing speedos now while watching Goodfellas. Some reasoning about it being a more streamlined viewing that way.

HAHAHA!

Why do I write this stuff on a public forum???

Perhaps I just don't care!

Dude, I swam for Monte Vista High Varsity in 1986. I saw for WCSC for ten years prior to that! I grew up in a Speedo! I never cared about how embarrassing it could be elsewhere.

I remember going to Hawaii on my my senior trip. Well this idiot wore his Speedo on the beach while everyone else was in swim trunks. 1986. I remember "Invisible Touch" was huge that summer. Pun intended. LOL!!

So my buddies all laughed at me for wearing that damn Speedo. So I went to a surf shop and bought a pair of OP's. Ocean Pacific? Black and white with checkered print. Very Vans style.

That's all I remember.

Back then you could drink at 18 years old. 1986 was the last year you could drink alcohol at the age of 18.

The whole thing was overrated. Alas I was a nerd and into RUSH and VAN HALEN and not into drinking.

Life is fun.

I think I still have my red and black Speedo from high school swim days!

And OP was my brand if choice in HS. Since I moved from sunny SoCal to rainy Western Washington in the middle of my freshman year, my OP gear kept me connected to the friends, weather and beaches I had left behind. I have a buddy that still wears those courderoy shorts!

"Because there is a need, OP."

Your year is slightly off. The legal drinking age was changed in '84. One of my older brothers was 18 in '86 and I clearly remember him asking another one of our older, legal age brothers to buy him alcohol. Just sayin'.

I swear to you that my buddies and I had a senior trip to Oahu in the summer of 1986. We were able to legally drink at 18. I had so much fun I went back a month later to Maui with my parents. My family an I went to Kimo's for dinner. My dad said, "ok hot shot, you can buy the drinks tonight and I'll pick up the dinner." And so it it was done.

Maybe the law wasn't enforced where you were? That's all I got.

The law was passed in '84, mandated to change by '86. It varied from state to state. Most states had long been 21yo by then, though.

Yep! No mention of Hawaii. I just looked it up and I am correct. June 16th 1986. The powers that be raised the drinking age from 18 to 21.

Yep.

Cool. That explains my bro, Earl's story, the law and when it all ACTUALLY changed.

And being that I was in Florida, it's no surprise that they'd be hard asses with the law immediately.

Whenever I watch Casino I'm reminded of when USA Network tried to telecast the film. They put a beep sound over every obscenity. Basically it was a voiceover punctuated by so many beeps it sounded like Morse Code. Hilarious!

Where are the people who get angry when you point out you have experience with a thing because you were in Florida at the time? They'll be along shortly to argue about it I guess.

Well, many people run in fear when they see an Earl post. So, one of the perks when replying to an Earl post is that there's less of a chance of running into the type of characters you're talking about.

Forgive me Earl :hail:
