I Have Always Been Wondering When 73 Was Going To Give Me A "Permanent Vacation" On Here! Still Working Them Angels Man! I Love This Aerosmith Album!

I will honestly admit that I am not a big Aerosmith fan. I loved the early stuff before "Draw The Line." "Rocks" was their apex.

However I will confess that when "Done With Mirrors" came out I dug it.

But then "Permanent Vacation" came out. 1987!

That was one hell of a year. A year that I believe actually brought HARD ROCK BACK!!

Ummmm

"Appetite For Destruction." Guns N Roses

"Mechanical Resonance" Tesla

I think "Permanent Waves" I mean "Permanent Vacation" was right up there for that year's renaissance of ROCK! LOL!

My brain actually wrote "Permanent Waves" on accident, so your humble writer decided to leave it in this thread for shits and giggles.

I liked Aerosmith's "Pump It" record too! I saw that tour. I think Skid Row opened. Another kick ass band durning the decline of fuckking real hard rock and metal!

The first Skid Row album came out in 1989!

"Slave To The Grind" came out in 1991! The same year Nirvana put out "Nevermind!" FOKKK!

Everyone thought that grunge killed METAL!

FUKK NO!

"NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS!"

"f**k this and f**k that, f**k it all and f**k a fuckking brat!"

So much for less f bombs tonight! Don't shoot me! Johnny Rotten wrote that! NOT ME!

Love,

THE SEX PISTOLS!

Where the FOKK is this thread going???

To the Rush Forum Toilet?

"Dude Looks Like A Lady" is classic! Didn't Joe or Steve walk into a bar in LA and see Tommy Lee at the bar getting smashed in all of his make up after a Motley Crue gig???

So they penned this hit???

This thread is for people who love to still ROCK!

If you don't please move on!!!

ROCK AND ROLL AND HARD ROCK WILL NEVER DIE!!!

As long as I'm still on this Forum and on this awesome planet!

PLANET OF ROCK!

Out of all of the planets in the universe that I was born on, I am one of the luckiest guys on this Earth.

Just think if you were some other "alien" walking around on some other "earth."

How lucky are we right????

Perhaps we are missing out on other bands that exist somewhere in the galaxy. But who cares!

Getting too DEEP PURPLE for You?

Am I just a blathering junkie?

Give me my ROCK AND ROLL!

Even Nikki Sixx wrote a song called "1st Band On the Moon!" His guitar player was Mick Mars! Get it???

Ahhh

1987

What a year.

Bon Jovi "Slippery When Wet"

Cinderella "Night Songs"

I saw that tour at Shoreline.

Whitesnake 1987

The apex was still there in HARD ROCK!

Grunge didn't kill shit.

HARD ROCK WILL LIVE FOREVER!

Signed,

"Heart's Done Time"

1987 was a great year .. Earl, you are right on in that '87 was a rebirth of sorts for rock and roll and hard rock

Andy Taylor's THUNDER is great .... and I will always love that first Faster Pussycat album

The Cult's ELECTRIC is right up there with Appetite

I too love Permanent Vacation, Earl. Dude (Looks Like a Lady) (which was about Vince Neil, not the song lyrics, but the title) is one of my favorite Aerosmith tracks of all time. Hangman Jury is another classic, as is Rag Doll with the Ella Fitztyler outro. Angel was talked about as being another Dream On when the the album was coming out. I'm not really a fan of that particular song, but I am of the album.

I also loved Done With Mirrors. Darkness from that album is closer in quality to Dream On than Angel, IMO. Pump was the last truly great Aerosmith album. What It Takes will forever make me think of the first girl to break my heart (sniff).

Thanks, Earl. Oh you've never offended me with "f**k"--it's my favourite word in the English language

Jelly dog? :o I hope that you were just thinking about jelly beans or other sweets when you came up with that Rush concoction!

I have this Aerosmith bootleg from 1986 and it's pretty swell. I still have my t-shirt from this tour and the Permanent Vacation tour but they're little tight.

I prefer Down With Mirrors over Permanent Vacation.

My fav Aerosmith album is unashamedly Pump. Permanent Vacation falls in right up their with the more well respected classics for me, with TINA, Rocks, and GYW. PW is easily one of their best albums. So much fun to listen to that one, and it sounds like they had so much fun making it.

Agree. Permanent Vacation was the beginning of Aerosmith II. Like the Mustang II. :sarcastic:
