Kind of a toss-up. Counterparts slightly wins the edge for production.

I've given it to Clockwork Angels. Counterparts and Vapor Trails were close.

Not a big fan either of any one album.  I like a few songs off each one.  Other than  Snakes, I haven't listened to any of them in months.

I think I remember Test For Echo being the album I liked the most number of songs, so I voted for Test For Echo.

Edit:  Yes, definitely T4E - I like 8 of the songs on the album.

I refuse to vote in a poll that have not got Feedback in it! Even tho I would not vote on it, it should still be there! Makes me :banghead:  :rage:

It's a covers album. It's not original music. I would think that would be obvious.

It is still a studio album, and it is still Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart playing on it!

1. Snakes & Arrows
2. Roll the Bones
3. Test for Echo
4. Presto
5. Counterparts
6. Vapor Trails
7. Clockwork Angels
8. Feedback

The more I listen to Vapor Trails the less I like it. I used to place it above Counterparts, but I've recently rediscovered Alien Shore & Everyday Glory which has raised Counterparts slightly in my estimation, while the loudness of Vapor Trails (honestly even the remix is still LOUD) just grates on me more and more as time passes. It is such a boring monosyllabic effort and is hurt terribly by the fact that Geddy's brilliant solo album (complete with awesome sounding sythns) came out just 2 years prior. A small factor is also that I recently got the Audio Fidelity Mastered CD of Counterparts (hence me rediscovering those songs) which is beautiful. It is nice to have the album be properly mastered with a good amount of headroom and no clipping. This still doesn't exist for either Vapor Trails or Clockwork Angels. Both of those albums are pretty brickwalled. Even through the loudness, I still prefer Vapor Trails because the songs are better. So much of Clockwork Angels is the worst songwriting RUSH has done in 35 years! Too many bad songs, and an awful lead single. This album more than any other makes me miss the 80s material.

Yes but it's still covers. If we're rating the music, then it shouldn't count. Doesn't make it any less of an album but it's just not original.

I loved "Feedback"...it was songs I'd never heard before with Rush rocking them, and songs I have heard before with Rush playing them better.  But back on point...toss-up between Counterparts and Vapor Trails.  CP got the slight nod just because of where I was in my life at the time and the way the album spoke to me.  Test For Echo spoke to me, to.  It said, "What the hell?"
