Sincere question - what do you gentlemen think is so special about White Room?

Is it a complex song musically?

I can't speak to it's complexity since i'm not a musician. But it's a catchy song with a really good main riff and it was certainly a groundbreaking song at the time it came out.

Not being snarky, but how was it groundbreaking?

It's just the musical arrangement of the song was different. It had a different sound to it and as time went on, the main riff could be considered an early style of heavy metal. Even though at the time it was recorded there was no such thing as that genre yet. The vocals are also unique in their delivery.

It didn't sound any different to me at the time it came out. That's why I'm asking.

Why I love it: The drumming is great. The guitar work is also fantastic. The lyrics are cool. And Clapton plays a guitar solo with all the verses.. Edited by Mithrandir

Cream is creaming Zeppelin!

To tell you the truth, I'm happy about that. I love Cream.

Watch this Ginger Baker documentary. The man makes Keith Moon look sane.

Do you not like White Room?

I do very much.

Well the way you were questioning it I thought you were a rabid Zeppelin fan furiously searching for answers to why they weren't winning this poll. :smoke:

No. I'm actually shocked that many here prefer White Room. That's all.
