God, I haven't listened to victor in over 10 years but I still remember how that woman on "Start Today" sounds a lot like old Geddy so I picked that one.

And the song where Alex's wife is complaining was pretty funny too.

Got to go with Promise. I remember when i first heard that on the radio- didn't know Alex had an album out. I was like, that sounds kinda like Rush. Then i heard the solo and was like, that sounds exactly like Alex!  That's cause it was!  tongue.gif

Geddy is my favorite bassist, he is just so incredible, how fast he goes. I like to play bass, guitar, synthesizers vocals for my band, Unknown. We should go touring in about 10 months (delay), but we need a new drummer. Alex lifeson is a great guitarist, and neil peart is the greatest drummer ever!

I'm amazed by this song, as it's so far removed from anything I would think Alex would write about. It's so "in your face." It's not my fave song off the cd, the last song is, however, this is a fave cd for me.

It's got to be 'Shut Up Shuttin Up' - I just absolutely love it, especially when a Alex's wife & her friend are moaning & there's Alex going: "shut up... shut up!... SHUT UP!!!" I usually end up with the hysterics laugh.gif  tongue.gif

Some good tracks on this album, Lisa Dalbello does a good 70s Geddy, so Start Today got my vote.

I like this album a lot, and I like that it didn't conform to what you might expect from Alex.  Great guitar playing on this too.

I went with Don't Care, cause when I first played the album it certainly got my attention(!) and piqued my curiosity for the rest of the album.

This is such an underrated album! Alex has serious attitude and I love it! It's hard to believe Rush was working on Test For Echo while this fabulous album came out.

It's cliche, but my favorite is Promise.

Promise is a great tune...but Shut Up Shuttin' Up is fantastic.

I always wished that his solo in that song made it onto a Rush album instead. It's f'n great...reminds me of a Satriani-type solo.
