The Apartment Chronicles, 4-15-2017. 7:48 pm [Permanent Mouth]

(GM*)

This is something I started in the fall of '78 on a piece of typing paper I'd brought home from typing class in the second semester of 9th grade. So hear we go!

Today was a GREAT Day! It got into the Eighties, The woodpecker was in and out trying to get foodstuffs, Heard a Black-capped Chickadee all day for the first time, some sort of black bird, (probably a starling), crows, robins, cardinals, blue jays, mourning doves and I think some western Finches. Oh and FERGS!!! They've been back a little over a week! I've also learned these days how to add IMAGES!

This also started out as'The Basement Chronicles' Because that's Where my "Lair" was for most of my life. The Basement was where my Drums were, my Stereo and records and eventually my Cassettes. Also my first 100 or so CDs,after I moved back in after my first Divorce. After that, I was truly 'on my own'. The first edition of 'The Apartment Chronicles' started in my First Wife and my Apt. in Ypsilanti Mich. we moved into in May of 1982. Back to The Basement Chronicles in Oct. of '83 When we got our first Townhouse, back in Saline. 'The Apartment Chronicles appeared late in '90 when I moved in temporarily with my BFF Dave Plummer into his new house he'd just bought in Ypsi, which I moved out of in the spring of '91 after my first Divorce was final. After my second wife and I were Wed in '95, we got OUR own town house, and 'The Basement Chronicles were again remained the same, just different basements! Back to apts. for six years, then I moved up to Presque Ilse for a year, and now HERE and Apt. it is again.

Thanks, Verena!

The Apartment Chronicles, TRF No. 2, 4/18/2017, 10:52 am (Assterful Mentions)

(GM*)

Greetings and Welcome Mein Froinds! I finally found a pic of the Common Starling, which is one of the birds outside my window...

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Animals/Animals-%20Common%20Starling.jpg Never noticed the white 'spots' on the coat until the binoculars brought them up! Notice the iridescent neck feathers, also! Common Starling, [sturnus vulgaris] was introduced from Europe & Asia.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Animals/Animals-%20Common%20Grackle%20male.jpghttp://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Animals/Animals-%20Brewers%20Blackbird%20male.jpg The Grackle and Brewers Blackbird are also inhabitants of this area in Spring, Summer and Fall. Also notice the iridescent neck and shoulders of the Grackle, while the Brewers Blackbird is mostly black. Both of these have yellow eyes in the males.

And here are the kitties, a few moments ago, [they're still there]....snoozin' away...

I just went to the back bedroom window, and remembered that my first encounter with Cabbage type butterflies starting to show up everywhere...also some medium size beetles and wasp/yellow jacket type insects....

The Apartment Chronicles, TRF 3, 4-20-2017 9:57 pm (Popular Mendies)

Hi, guys....[that's all gender covering according to my daughter.) Today was a weird day for me. I got up, cleaned up the bathroom, Kitchen floor, found out all the Water pressure is out in my apartment kitchen, had enough to take a shower though. My BFF from Georgia, Jon Davis was up, and stopped in for a few hours, he showed me how to record with that fancy recorder I bought last November (as I expected, he did it in about 2 min. set the record level and all) he gave me a CD of stuff he's been working on for the last few months, not finished yet, but he knows I like that kind of stuff and he calls it "Bullshit for Buddha-boy, Bullshit for Buddha boy" at the beginning of the recording! LOL He'll visit his Mom in Lansing and a couple other friends, then go back to Georgia on Sunday...finishing more of my CD burning today also... and going through the CSI:NY series as well as Star Trek: The Next Generation. Closing down though, for tonight....very busy day! Goodnoght, all! Love you folks!

How far are you in the CD project? I'm hoping to get my vinyl out of the shed soon and may have to convert some of that if it's still of decent condition. If it isn't, it's off to the used record store.

About 3/4 of the way done. burning is a LOT faster these days than it used to be...I've noticed that a lot of the new releases include the possibility of getting them on vinyl...and on Amazon, a lot of older vinyl is available...usually at a bit steeper price, but not too steep in some cases...Hope your endeavor doesn't Hurt too much Beautiful!

The Apartment Chronicles, TRF 4, 4-22-2017. "Earth Day". 9:32 am [Anode Mentions](G.M*)Hello, All! Another busy day yesterday, discovered my kitchen faucet problem, the screw on attachment that allowed normal flow, or you could pull down the nozzle and it would provide a shower type flow with more pressure because of water restriction. Well, it's been there since I moved in in the fall of 2012, and I applied some liquid wrench to it and used my Vise-Grips this morning to remove it. Upon doing that, I discovered the O ring was virtually destroyed and my faucet nearly blew up and landed in the Mid Atlantic just off of Florida. {damned O rings...}So, Back to the burning....on The Doobie Brothers first album...Just finishing "Minute By Minute"...On to "The Doors"

1:52 PM, (Peduka Mackeral) And Now, I've seen my first American Goldfinch for this year!

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Animals/Animals-%20American%20Goldfinch.jpg

And now, I just finished adding DRAIN STH [swedeish girl Hard Rock group] to my library on my Comp.

The Apartment Chronicles, TRF, 5. May 16, '17 at 9:30 am [annotized mothra]

(GM*) An' it's ME!!! Got up this morning and fought off the urge to sleep in half the day...haven't done that since back in Dec. and the flu hit me...any who, I thought about this last night as I was falling asleep, to add two of my most favorite 1/64th scale automobiles to my lead table set up at the base of my Comp. Monitor. See if you can guess what they are!

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Me%20stuff/My%20Stuff-%20The%20Brains%20on%20the%20main%20table-%20800%20w.jpg

Two of the most rare Matchbox vehicles from the Mid-Sixties, The '64 Chevrolet Impala TAXI, and the 1964 Cadillac Ambulance. S&S Superline Parkway. I used to own both in my youth when we still lived in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and I also own the Greyhound Bus, two level, with the clear yellow windows! The Taxi and the Ambulance must've been stolen by an ASSociate...as I am mostly about the PAST, this seemed better than the latest Batmobile and a regular line new HotWheel. I'M HAPPY!!!!

BTW, ORFie, I watched a show on TV about food waste in which they said hundreds of tons of bananas get thrown away here because they don't meet supermarket "cosmetic standards" which can include being too small or too large, too curvy or too straight, etc. I can't imagine rejecting a banana because it was too large!? More banana = good.

I heard the curve comes from playing with it too much but I'm no banana expert..

Yes, that's my feeling as well....Bring 'em HERE! I'll eat 'em! Bake Banana Nutbread out my ass, Banana cake with sour cream icing, Banana smoothies etc.http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Banana%20World/Smootie%20banana%20sm_1.jpg

Another thing that happened today was found out a song I wanted to put into my iTunes library I already owned on one of the NCIS soundtrack albums. "Someday The Rain Will Fall" by John Mellencamp. Then I tracked down an old Brit. music hall tune, "I Do Like To Be Beside The Sea Side" performed by Mark Sheridan on YouTube...I could have sworn that I heard bits of this song at the end of one of the songs on Pink Floyd's Meddle, but checked it out, and it wasn't there......hmmm.

Change your apartment, change the world

Those commercials SUCK!!!

12:26 PM /span/span/span/span/span/span

span style="font-family: comic sans ms", cursive]( ) Ok. what's been happenin'?Ed, my next door neighbor moved out early summer, and a friend I used to be in school and Boy Scouts, Kelly Ormsby, and his wife Ruth moved in, and now I KNOW my neighbor! And it took me a while, [10 mins] until I noticed who he was when we talked. This amused him to the end, as he recognised me right away! As most folks know, I've been getting into my modelling more, and more into details in models I make, and am into a Tamiya A6M5a Model 52 Zero, about to finish the Seat Belt assembly with stickers and PE parts heading towards the Cockpit cage completion.Waiting on PE parts for a HOBBY BOSS 1/32 scale Northrop P-61 Black Widow night fighter [after market] to come so I can start that part. Received my first Zoukei-Mura Model, a 1/32 Dornier 335 A-0 push/ pull aircraft. Waiting till the 'Extra part package is in stock to start that model. Doing lots of Info gathering on both of those models and TV and MUSIC taking up backround noise...12:54 PM [ported mentos] Bye bye!<p>
