I called it and he said he's a solar company. I said you are a solar f***ing scammer! I'd love to beat these people!

That's not messing with them. Messing with them is keeping them on the telephone line or email string with all manner of inane talking. There's lots of Youtubes with people doing that, one of which is a guy who kept a scammer on the phone for more than 40 minutes. By the end, the guy and the scammer were trading insults and foul language. Quite funny.

On a semi-similar note, when I was a kid, we had some dickish neighbors across the street and lets just say they received quite a bit of stuff from TV advertisements that they didn't order. When C.O.D. was a thing. Several K-Tel records. Maybe a Pocket Fisherman too. It was a while ago.

There was a women in the area where I grew up who was always writing letters to the editor of the local paper about the evils of pornography and music ..

 

I'm sure she had no idea how that subscription to Honcho magazine arrived in her mailbox ..
