Don Henley had some really lousy things to say about Rush in '02 when they were getting ready to tour again.
Doesn't have anything to do with the Eagles music though.
And members of this forum have really lousy things to say about Rush!

Yeah they got a little soft towards the end,
I think they got heavier with the addition of Joe Walsh.

Quite. Rush have been shit nearly as long as The Eagles have.

Comfortably in my top-10 all-time favorite bands. Saw them 7 times and never once left thinking they were anything but fabulous.
Henley is probably my 2nd favorite lyricist just behind Dylan.

I've had a rough night but I don't necessarily hate the Effen Eagles. Don Henley is kind of a pratt though. Glenn is dead so I won't talk shit about him. If it wasn't for Joe Walsh I probably would hate the Eagles though.

Oh and Timothy B Schmidt's vocals on I Can't Tell You Why are  golden. Total yacht rock classic.

Walsh and Schmidt were a couple of great pickups for the band.

Agreed but not feeling any love for my favorite Eagle, Don felder.  Every guitar solo he played in that band was awesome.

The fact is that they are one of the most beloved bands in the USA. And the most commercially successful domestic band.

I used to like them until I watched a documentary about them.

Sometimes the less you know about the personalities in a band, the better off you are.

Edit:  I still like some of their songs, but Glen and Don were obnoxious.

Ah, the Eaglezzzzzzzzzz........

Joe Walsh in the Eaglezzz was like putting Richie Blackmore in the Osmonds.
I way prefer Joe's work, solo and with the James Gang, over ANY Eagles shite!

Not just rock critics but hipsters as well.

They love Joe Walsh, though.

We also need Joe to revive the Continuous Party and run again for president.  He'd do a better job than those jerks in DC now, I'll wager.

Around here they became the band that douchebag drunk frat guy tries to sing at the bars or football games and has thusly ruined any attraction I had for the band. They're not awful but not nearly as great as the record sales would indicate, IMO...but their success does show the power of simple melodies and excellent harmonies.

They're fine I guess but I do find Don Henley full of himself with the air of "self-important artist" about him that I can't stand. So yeah, f**k him.

I honestly really like The Eagles.  I've grown up with them since they're my dad's favorite band and have been since the '70s, therefore I haven't really been able to escape them.  I don't know how many times I've listened to Hell Freezes Over since I was a little kid, but I know it's a lot.

But I actually really love 'em.  :)
