Fordgalaxy
For many people St Patrick's day, Cinco De Mayo, etc, are just days when drinking to excess is okay but I read something about St Patrick today that shed new light (at least to me) on him. 1. St. Patrick was not Irish. He was born in Roman Britain about 400 A.D. 2. He converted pagan Irish clans to Christianity. 3. He was never canonized by a Pope. 4. Irish immigrants brought the St. Patrick tradition to America in the 1700s. 5. March 17th commemorates his death. So for all you budding alcoholics, keep in mind that you're celebrating the death of someone when you're quaffing that green beer or single malt scotch this coming Friday.
