When I woke up today, I was a moderately happy straight guy with aspirations of picking up some tree branches that had come down in last night's storm

 

Over the period of a few hours, I have been transformed into a gay superhero who then strays for cupcakes

Technically, she's not legal in Japan.

Wikipedia says she is 19, who am to question?

Legal age is 20 here.

Is that just for sex??

20 is for smokes and liquor.

 

20 IS adult age. As for sex, I can't imagine anyone being imprisoned for having sex with a consenting 19 year old but that doesn't mean it's legal. Japan, as with many places in Asia, has laws...that are often not enforced.

 

A lighter topic/issue: It's illegal to use an umbrella while riding a bicycle BUT everyone does (except me...I don't want to be the ONE guy that gets a ticket) and equipment for bicycle umbrella stands are sold everywhere. This isn't like those dumb old laws in the USA like it being illegal to ride a horse in a diner on Tuesday afternoons. These are modern laws created not too long ago that are NEVER enforced.

 

Where was I? Oh, did I just give you the "OK" sign for you to pick up 19 year old girls in Japan?
