That Almirola wreck was nasty. Hoping for the best there. Weird situation though.

One thing is for sure, they need to stop interviewing Danica after a wreck. She does not have the temperament to handle herself appropriately.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. It's understandable that someone in her position would feel frustrated, but she acts like it never happens to any other driver.

Maybe a little bit of a chip on her shoulder...

Methinks Ms Patrick would better serve us all in another discipline, i.e. out of NASCAR. Discuss. Edited by pjbear05

According to NASCAR, Almirola suffered a compression fracture of the T5 vertebrae but has already been released from the hospital so it must be pretty minor.

It's a pretty significant injury, but something he will likely recover fully from.

It's the same injury that sidelined Tony Stewart for the first eight races last season.

Maybe in the context of driving a race car it's significant, but for the average person, it's not a huge deal or they wouldn't have let him out of the hospital so quickly.

Coca Cola 600 will now suddenly have four stages for some reason.

How do they justify that? If that bumps someone from the chase at the end of the year that would be pretty shitty...

The Indy 500 was umm interesting, with the Honda engines having big problems. It was so disappointing to see Helio edged out for the win! Watching the Charlotte race now. Nothing else to do because all it ever does here is frickin' RAIN !!!

I was pulling for Helio there at the end, but I'm really happy to see Takuma Sato win. The last lap wreck in 2012 was heartbreaking, so I'm glad to see him get it done now. Hell of a race at the end.
