Your choice: Rush epics or Rush radio-friendly tunes?

I prefer epics. 5 of Rush epics are on my top 5 Rush songs list.

I think anybody who's still posting on a RUSH message board when the band has probably since retired is going to be way more hardcore and will choose the epics.

Forced to decide, I went with the radio-friendly tunes. I'd rather listen to Circumstances/Trees than side I of Hemispheres, Spirit/Freewill than Natty Sci, Closer to the Heart than Cygnus X-I, and Bangkok/Twilight Zone over the complete 2112. On the other hand, I'll take Xanadu, Camera Eye, and the Fountain over other tracks from those albums. Edited February 10, 2017 by goose

Radio friendly for me. There were other bands that were much better at making epic stuff. But some of Rush's radio friendly songs, like Subdivisions and Limelight, are among my absolute favorite tunes.

Radio friendly. Especially if we're also talking songs like Distant Early Warning, Time Stand Still, Dreamline, Driven, etc...

The epics are good, but in the end, I chose radio-friendly. I grew up around radio-friendly more often.

Agreed! In my book epics 2112, Xanadu, La Villa, Natural Science and Necromancer, all beat Red Barchetta.

Is there any real distinction between epics and radio friendly...aren't all of their albums based on a concept?

If I choose not to decide I still have made a choice ;)

 

However, I opted for epics because 2112, Jacobs Ladder, Natural Science, La Villa, Cygnus X1 would all be in my top 10
