Texas King
Pick your fave version. For me a live ESL version is much better than the original, Hemispheres version.

ytserush
What about the "vault version" and the one on R30? Tie between Exit...Stage Left and R30.
rocket ignites
I'd have to revist the DS version again, but the ESL Trees gets my vote.

EagleMoon
It would have to be a tie between the studio version and ESL.
Steve Smith
Oh the Hemispheres studio version is the one in my humble opinion. The greatest guitar sounds ever ever created and I include Eddie Van Halen's best effort in that. EVH made a great tribute to Rush on Pleasuredome from the F.U.C.K album. Giving a nod to Xanadu
Steve Smith
It would have to be a tie between the studio version and ESL. It just has everything. At one time in my teens I could play nearly every Rush track note for note from the debut up to Moving Pictures. I have forgotten most now but the intro from the Trees is still etched in my memory and to this day I can pick up my classical guitar and still play it perfectly. How weird is that? D major, F sharp major, C sharp minor, A major, E major, G major, A major, B minor

78jazz
Amongst these options, ESL for me. I do like the way they played it on the Power Windows tour as well.
Rush Cocky
I'm sentimental toward the Exit....Stage Left version, and I've listened to that version easily 500 times in my life (if not more). ESL helped me get through my teenage years.
