prolix
These are the 4 common ones in my neck of the woods. Other people might have some different brands. I'm going with Vernors. It has the strongest ginger taste.
goose
I only really know Schwepps and Canada Dry by name, and went with the former. Canada Dry is a bit too sweet, if my recollection is right. I really only drink Ginger Ale on airplanes.
bean-tor
I have a marked preference for Canada Dry. To me, its flavour is sharper and less sweet than other brands I've tried. I haven't tasted all of the ginger ales on this list, though.
blueschica
I picked Vernor's for the same reason as prolix - I like that it's very gingery! They don't have it near us, but when we visit the Midwest I stock up on my guilty pleasure!

KenJennings
Schweppe's has a weird oily synthetic mouthfeel. Seagram is unoffensive, but it's timid... even meek. Vernor's tastes like something else altogether. Canada Dry plays it right down the middle. It gets my vote.

ILSnwdog
I love Canada Dry. I find it very refreshing. I don't like Seagrams. It has a weird aftertaste.Schweppe's is OK. Is Vernor's even ginger ale?

blueschica
Awesome ginger ale drink ! We went to a restaurant in Kitty Hawk NC once and instead of a Shirley Temple (my daughters favorite, lol) they had a Shirley Shark! The grenadine was in a plastic shark like this photo, only the drink was ginger ale colored, (not this crappy blue) so the shark blood looked even better. It was the best !! http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp338/plantfan40/Shark-Attack-Drink-2_2.jpg
IwillchooseFreeWill
I recently had Cascade ginger beer which was quite nice. We Aussies like our ginger beer but I don't like Bundaberg. I miss Vernors. I really really really miss root beer! Carol still sigless because she can't figure out how to add the cool stuff
pjbear05
Vernor's, no contest. Detroit's own!
Crimsonmistymemory
Well as far as mass produced varieties I went with Canada Dry. However my favorite Ginger Ale is my home made recipe. It is surprisingly simple and mixes very well with me beloved Bourbon :P
