Guess Spirit doesn't count?

Or Enemy?

Cause if Enemy counts then I say The Enemy Within

Both great songs...but Digital Man gets kinda weak near the end, where Geddy starts talking/mumbling the lyrics. Vital Signs is stronger throughout. VS by a thin margin.

I've always loved that part. :)

"Vital Signs" has a Reggae groove and influence throughout.

But the passage of Spirit of Radio before "Concert Hall" has that also.

The Reggae guitar pattern follows the beat of the snare after the kick drum whereas pop and rock guitar and bass tend to play around on the beat of the bass drum. Maybe something to do with being a bit behind the beat after a couple of spliffs!!!

Love to hear Rush do an album of Bob Marley covers

That would be really cool !

Do you know Dread Zeppelin?

Led Zeppelin songs done in reggae style and sung by an Elvis interpreter.

Vital Signs is tighter and better crafted, i think

I agree with this...and while I love Digital Man too, I definitely pick Vital Signs. Brilliant song.

Ska is a musical form derived from the Reggae beat. The Reggae players would smoke weed so they were stoned and behind the beat so the emphasis with the instruments would be on the snare beat instead of the kick drum before that which other music plays around with.

Ska musicians would smoke weed then take wizz so that they came up with the same beat as Reggea but played a lot faster.

Odd combination I know but it is true XXX
