The Bangles!, based purely on their first album. If the Corrs kicked their drummer brother out of the band, I could go for them, mostly cuz they're just sooo nice to look at (I guess they're good musically if you're into that stuff, like my wife).

Had a bit of a crush on Susanna back in the day. Cool video; Leonard Nimoy is icing on the cake:

Any other Bangles fans out there! Yay, let's hear from ya! (just kidding, I loathe Walk Like an Egyptian, Manic Monday, Hazy Shade of Garfunkel, etc. Susanna was still looking good though.)

It's a good thing Frank was making music and not designing rockets or we'd still be staring wistfully at the Moon.

Maybe it's the current nature of the band, but I went with The Coathangers.

I really am digging them right now.

Also,

Bikini Kill?

Two years ago I would have said L7. I still love L7, but the Coathangers are the band for me right now.

Crushing on Hoffs was required back then.

On that note, Hoff's recent 'Someday' album is quite good.

I will pick Girlschool, but I also like The Runaways a lot.

And please don't say The Bangles, because they are POP, not ROCK band.

Define the difference between "rock" and "pop"

Pop is part of the rock genre.

Bananarama, or Zepparella, depending on my mood.

It's a cruel, cruel cover:

Well, that's what I'd say too. But I'm thinking TK's definition is pretty different.

Interesting list.

For me it's the Go-Gos. We Got the Beat and Our Lips Are Sealed are still great fun when they come on the radio.

"Head Over Heels" is another insanely catchy Go-Go's song.

I LOVE that song. All about Caffey's keyboards for me.

It's comparing the Bay City Rollers to the Clash?

If someone said The Bangles were a rock band, I wouldn't disagree.

If someone said The Bangles were a pop band, I wouldn't disagree.

If someone said The Bangles were a metal band, I'd disagree.

Branches on the same tree.

For sure. But I'm curious as to TK's thoughts. They often seem to come from a different place than mine.

The Bangles may not be hard rock, but they are a rock band.

Their cover of Hazy Shade of Winter was certainly a rock song.
