Can't make a choice: they are my two favourite guitarists; I'd say Tony's for the heavy riffs and Ritchie for the solos.

Ritchie created two great bands anyway

Blackmore tops anyone not named Gilmour, Lifeson, or SRV in my book.

But there is no denying that Iommi is truly epic, and his influence on rock n roll is vastly underrated.

Iommi is a better composer. Blackmore is a better guitarist.

Iommi did wonders with his limitations, but Blackmore is much more natural and fluid.

I expected a guy like you could put this in words that made sense.

Thanks

Well, there's the hell of it. I thought Iommi got more fluid with time. I love his work with early Sab, but the solos sounded a bit Page-ish. Not that that's bad. I just think his style had such an easy natural sound starting with Heaven And Hell onward. A guy who grew and went onward.

Hahaha!!! Thank God or Whoever I actually do have a brain!

I'm glad I did a search on this one.

I found a dvd boot of Rainbow! All Joe Lynn Turner Era. It's incredible!!! I love the Turner MK!

However I just wanted to say tonight that I think Blackmore blows Iommi away!!!

Of cours Iommi is a pioneer of pulsating power but Blackmore is better........

Remember! I'm insane.

I am the EGOIST who runs this Rush Forum.

Love both but it has to be Blackmore! Iommi dominate with riffs, but Blackmore dominate with more things than Iommi.

Blackmore is the better overall player. But the question is who kicks more arse? Based on the heaviness of his riffs its Iommi who kicks more arse.

You know, Iommi does seem more fluid starting with Heaven and Hell. I wonder if it has to do with improvements with his finger extensions?
