My new kitchen is finished.

This is the kitchen when we moved in last May:

Then my buddy who is a contractor helped me rip out the old cabinets. We had one hell of a bond fire the next week.

We got it down to the subfloor and drywall.

Then we had a flooring guy come in and replace the hideous ceramic tile from 1975 with real hardwood. Then we got new cabinets and appliances (except the dishwasher. It was a newer Bosch). Then came the granite counter tops. Finally, last week it was painted, and over the weekend, my in-laws helped me put the tile backsplash up. What a job! I'm sore today.

Here is the finished product.

Yeah you told me about that. So it's a permanent feature in your kitchen? I wasn't sure if it was just a gadget type thing that you might not use after a while. Obviously I underestimated your beer capacities! :smoke:

The kegerator is part of my bar that is in the basement. And it works. Now I have a full functioning wet bar.

I love my new house. :)

Now I'm hungry for pizza.

The only thing that has changed since you and Jr. were over is the paint and backsplash.

The little fridge on the countertop is my wife's wine cooler. She got the wine cooler for Christmas, and I got the kegerator.

The red thingie is a Jelly Belly dispenser. I have three kids. ;)

Very nice! Love the way it's divided in the middle with a walk through. Was it like that before? It's hard to tell from the original picture.

I tore out the old kitchen and installed all new drywall and floor tile. Had the pros install the cabinets and backsplash. I have a very difficult kitchen. I have a 120 and 135 degree turn in one wall that was very tough on the cabinets. They did have a wet saw out front. The tiles come in 12"x12" sheets.

Sounds just like the tiles we had. They are glued to a sheet.

Yeah, the backing is like a netting. Looks like I have a slightly smaller kitchen so was able to get it done for around $20,000.

Nicely done, but just curious....Is dark wood popular in American kitchens?...it's not something you see much over here.

I'm not gay, so I wouldn't know...but according to my wife, it's in style now. ;)
