Syrinx
2112 without question. I was 15-16 at the time and played it over an over. Just for the time of life and what music meant to me in my awkward teen years, I remember vividly that period of my Rush fandom.

Verena
I particularly identify with Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Signals, Vapor Trails, Snakes & Arrows and Clockwork Angels. All these. :rush:
Carvan Alex
I'll always have a special spot for Signals. Countdown was the first song of their's I ever heard, and songs like Chemistry, Subdivisions, and Digital Man followed soon after along with Limelight, YYZ, Tom Sawyer, Entre Nous, Red Barchetta, Vital Signs, etc. The first and what appears to be the only Rush album release I've experienced as a fan is Clockwork, although I don't personally relate to the album that much. I love it, and CA is probably in my top 5 albums of their's. The other two albums I relate to the most are Power Windows, mostly because I discovered it on a long road trip and listened over and over and over. The other is Snakes & Arrows, because it is a musical masterpiece. I consider Snakes their best album. Signals is my favorite album actually, and I LOVE Losing It out of all those tracks. winter17
Can't choose just one. Vapor Trails, because it is the first album I purchased, and all of the songs hold a sort of "fight or flight" feel (certainly because of Neil's situation) that I can associate with. Clockwork Angels, because it was the only album released when I was a Rush fan, even though I wasn't nearly the fan I am now. Power Windows, simply because of the powerful lyrics. cameraeyes
Roll the Bones What Rush album do you identify with the most? Meaning, as far as lyrics regarding your situations, feelings of the moment, your story, etc. The one I identify with the most is "Clockwork Angels". I want to travel and see the world, learn new things, be non-conformist from old beliefs (BU2B). I've also learned not to hold grudges against people for bad things they did to me (Wish them Well, even though that song is trashed by fans here), as well as reflection in hoping one day I tell my future children about journey. What about you?

Disk98
It's hard to identify myself with an entire album because every song is so different. Take Moving Pictures, for example…Red Barchetta and Witch Hunt, while both great, are totally different from each other in terms of lyrical themes, musical composition, and song structure. Concept albums like Clockwork Angels, with a whole storyline and overall lesson in the end, are a bit easier, and I guess I'd pick that album because I do see some elements of myself with regard to religious and moral stances. But I don't know…I don't really listen to music that way. There's a difference between identifying myself with a piece of music, and a piece of music resonating with me. Wil1972
I identify with the first album because it gives me such a rush! I identify with Fly by Night because it satisfies my sense of wanderlust and longing to find my place in the world and lets me know we all belong somewhere. I identify with Caress of Steel because it gives me the sense of being wrapped in the hot molten hands of intelligent metal. I identify with 2112 because it reminds me that there will always be oppressors but also those who will fight for freedom. I identify with A Farewell to Kings because of its regal reminder of the open heart of freedom over the clinched fist of kingly lordship. I identify with Hemispheres because it allows us a portal through the black hole of the heart and mind and the need for balance for both. I identify with Permanent Waves because it proudly raised a flag for music that had a shelf life, music that stood for integrity over the quick buck, and the desire to stand against the mass market of over-commercialism. I identify with Moving Pictures because its a f***ing good album. I identify with Signals because it taps into our youthful idealisms and reminds us that dreams can come true if we remain true to ourselves. I identify with Grace under Pressure because it showed me that pain and heartbreak and hardship are sure things in life, but a little grace and resolve will see us through. I identify with Power Windows because it gives us a wider worldview to other opinions and political views, and the determination not to be lured by the wrong ones, as power can be used for good and bad. I identify with Hold Your Fire because it reminds us of the positive impulses in ourselves that can conquer and tame the negative ones. I identify with Presto because I can see that we all have problems in our lives and while magic wands cannot change things, we can if we stay true to our aims. I identify with Roll the Bones because it reminds us that sometimes life is a crap shoot. But we have to roll the dice and take chances sometimes or we remain in a state of constant fear. I identify with Counterparts because I learned that while the universe can be cruel, from time to time we find that there is a rhyme and reason in things if we seek them out and work at them together. I identify with Test for Echo because sometimes we feel like lone voices in the wilderness, but once in awhile we receive the echo of a like mind. I identify with Vapor Trails because it shows that life is fleeting and what you make of it depends on your resolve. Overcome and grow. I identify with Snakes and Arrows because we see that religion can have positive and negative connotations. I identify with Clockwork Angels because it portrays the journey we are all on, each one unique, but at the end of the day, we are judged by the garden we grew. Segue Myles
I never Identified with Any rush. As far as Neil's lyric were never about things that reached me......i just enjoyed the music. Mick Same here. Aside from Vapor Trails which moves me quite often, only Open Secrets ever struck a deep chord within me. I think that lack of emotional connection is why they have faded for me. I love Rush but in a very different way to how I feel about bands that really connected with me.

grasbo
I would have to say Counterparts.I have mentioned in another thread i was virtually homeless and down and out when this was released.I really gotinto a lot of the lyrics on a personal level like Nobody's Hero,Cold Fire,Alien Sun and Everyday Glory. Not only the lyrics but the music too.Alex's guitarplaying on that album inspired me to get a guitar again(I had sold my last guitar to buy cheap grog).I was absolute rock bottom and that album picked meup and slowly i got my arse into gear.I still have that cd,cracked case, cover in pieces, scratched but playable and the old boom box i played it through. Mystic Slipperman
A lot of them do at different times in my life. These days, it's mostly individual tracks, but if I had to choose an album it would be Hold Your Fire, especially "Time Stand Still", "Open Secrets", and Mission".
