Hacksaw Ridge

I usually see a movie every Tuesday night with my wife because we like movies and the local theater has them discounted. As such, I usually make a post in the "Last movie you watched" thread about it. Last night I saw Hacksaw Ridge and it was so good that I thought it deserved a thread of its own.

I think Mel Gibson does a great job directing and I usually love the movies he's directed. This movie is another great movie he's directed. It's very gory, but it tells a compelling story.

Push all the flaws aside, the man is talented. I am looking forward to seeing this movie.

He is a fascinating blend of arsewipe and genius.

It's amazing how he is simultaneously equal in both regards.

Most of Mel's directed movies are very well done. I appreciate that he tries to incorporate historical fact in them.

We Were Soldiers is my favorite Vietnam war movie in large part because of how accurate it is. He used a lot of first-hand accounts to make it.
