  1. 1. Which is the best debut album?

    • Rush (by Rush)
    • Led Zeppelin (by Led Zeppelin)
    • Black Sabbath (by Black Sabbath)
    • In The Court Of The Crimson King (by King Crimson)
    • From Genesis To Revelation (by Genesis)
      0
    • The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn (by Pink Floyd)

I like the :rush: debut the most, but it's won't say the best. Either Zeppelin or Sabbath gets that title...with Sabbath winning out, I think. As noted, Zeppelin hadn't quite figured itself out yet, while Sabbath's sound and schtick was there on arrival.

Van Halen's debut album had more impact on me than any other I can remember. It could have just been the timing (my senior year of high school) but it was something completely different and exciting back then...

I voted black sabbath

Basically invented metal with that one

So glad they did that. If they did not, what would I have to listen to?

Most of my music is Metal, or a sub genre of it.

And still you do not listen to Black Sabbath (just a few songs)?

I've lost count of the CDs I have bought from artists that I first heard/saw on you tube

It is a goldmine for music, both new and old, and should be tapped

I agree. YT is great to be able to listen to music to determine if it's something you want to spend money on. Much nicer than when you couldn't listening to something before buying, and then you'd get an album home only to discover it sucks.

I remember the 90s when Barnes And Noble and Borders would have the headphones to listen thru to sample the CDs

I always stood there weighing the pros and cons :

Do I put these greasy looking headphones on, or, do I risk blowing $12 on a CD that sucks ??

I love you tube
