RUSHHEAD666
I noticed that a few of you mentioned Jose's tragic death in the MLB 2016 but come on. This kid needs his own thread.I've always been in love with Cuban ball players. From Canseco to Cespedes to Puig to Jose Fernandez.I drafted Jose every year. Even when he had his Tommy John so I could claim him the following year for free. The Strikeout King!Amazing on the field and off the field. The city of Miami embraced this guy. Pure class. Why his contract allowed him to get on a speed boat in the night time is insane.Jeff Kent for the Giants was not allowed to ride motorcycles in his contract. He still got caught. Do you know Jose Fernandez tried to escape Cuba four times? He was caught three times and thrown in prison. The fourth time he was on a boat with his mother. He was 15 years young. As they were traveling to Florida a woman fell overboard. Jose was the only one to jump into the ocean to save her. IT WAS HIS MOM!!!! Who would have thought that the same ocean that brought him freedom and success would also be his swan song of tragedy. I loved watching Jose pitch. I drafted him every year. Even when he had Tommy John because I would get to have him for free the following year. I bought his jersey tonight. I will wear it with pride.

ReRushed
It's hard to fathom a talent like Jose Fernandez dying so young. His family and his friends have to endure a horrible loss and his baseball fans will never see his awesome potential reached. Tragic on so many levels. Maverick
He shut out the Nationals last week. As much as it pained me at the time, I could not help but appreciate his performance, skill, and talent. Sadly that is all gone, now. :(

1-0-0-1-0-0-1
This was from Monday's game against the Mets. If you saw this in a fictional baseball movie you would be like, "No WAY, c'mon!!!" But no, Dee Gordon created one of the most memorable baseball moments ever, IMO. And it's near impossible to not get choked up at his and his teammates' reaction at the end. http://youtu.be/QkcHFlhnYWo http://youtu.be/Lc3WZVYwFgM

Most EVER!!!!!! Even Hollywood couldn't write this script. I never knew Jose but I knew he was great for baseball and the community. His DNA will carry on.
